Account Executive, Digital Advertising Software Sales
We are expanding our software sales team and are looking for several talented account executives, experienced in positioning, selling, and helping to deliver marketing technology solutions to leading advertisers, agencies, networks, and publishers. The positions report to the Vice President, Sales. Full-time positions are available in the Washington, DC area, although we will also consider engaging with proven, independent contractors seeking to operate from other locations, such as New York, Chicago, London, or San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Target and manage a specified market segment or territory of digital advertisers, agencies, and/or publishers
- Identify and develop a strong understanding of client and prospect needs, business processes, and profit drivers
- Tightly manage a customer pipeline and revenue forecasts according to our sales management processes (a combination of inbound and outbound leads)
- Proactively define creative ways in which our solutions help maximize client profits on an on-going basis
- Adapt and refine supporting sales content to meaningful client value propositions and presentation materials
- Actively seek personal client relationships and conduct on-site presentations and meetings, as appropriate, with one or numerous senior buyers
- Apply industry insights and research in presenting thought leadership and innovations as part of the customer relationship
- Achieve target revenue and margin targets
- Participate and lead periodic web-based and in-person trade events
- Work collaboratively with sales leadership, peers, and product management to improve overall company performance
Qualifications
- Required 2-5 years of successful business-to-business software sales and client management experience, and preferably 1-2 years selling technology and media solutions to online publishers, ad networks, and advertisers
- Preferably 1-2 years selling technology and/or media solutions to mid-to-large online publishers, and/or Fortune 1000 advertisers
- Familiarity with staged sales processes and solutions selling (i.e., selling customer needs and values versus product features)
- Proactive, collaborative, and high-energy attitude; willing to help define and segment markets and buyers, target and contact new buyers, and manage a broad range of buyer needs and types
- Strong understanding and interest in technology, the digital sector, new and emerging media formats, as well as basic functional use of Microsoft Office tools and CRM packages (e.g., Salesforce.com)
- A 4-year college degree with strong written and verbal skills
